When the pandemic forced Cotton & Copper in Tempe to close its doors, chef and owner Tamara Stanger returned to her home state to bring the flavors of the desert to the mountains of Utah. Now, she's headed back to Arizona for a desert dining experience unlike any other.
A trailblazer in the Phoenix food community, Tamara is known for her homegrown flavors and true farm-to-table style cooking. Her dishes often utilize ancient ingredients from the Sonoran Desert, which she sources through foraging, for a new style of cooking dubbed "New Arizonan" by the Phoenix New Times.
Tamara has worked closely with the James Beard Foundation, competed on Food Network’s Chopped, and been named “Best Visionary” and “Women Who Move the Valley” by local publications. She is now the executive chef at The Lakehouse at Deer Creek in Utah.
