Destined to happen "only once in a blue moon," embark on a culinary journey to Oaxaca, highlighted by the release of NARAN, the newest mezcal to join the Mezcal Carreño family.

Meaning “eclipse of the moon” in Trique, an indigenous Oaxacan language from the sierras, NARAN is soft, smoky and reminiscent of orange peel, evergreen and glacier water—the perfect accompaniment to the evening's dinner created by David Solorzano of Mesa De Quetzal in Tucson, and Brett Vibber of WILD Arizona Cuisine in Phoenix.

David Solorzano - A graduate of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, Chef David has worked in some of Arizona's most revered fine dining restaurants including Vincent's on Camelback and Miraval Resort & Spa. In Tucson, he opened a food truck called Animal Farm that was named the "Best Food Truck in Tucson" by Tucson Weekly. Today, he is the executive chef with Mesa De Quetzal, a dining series designed to create a sense of community while sharing good, honest, creative food.

Jaren Bates - Hailing from the Navajo Reservation in northern New Mexico, Chef Jaren has traveled across the country, opening restaurants and working alongside some of the best chefs in the world. Having come full circle, he has returned to his desert roots to work with WILD Arizona Cuisine and showcase food that honors our ancestors, as well as the land we live and walk on today.

An homage to the "Mezcal Monday" backyard parties started in 2018 by Abel Arriaga and Ivan Carreño, the dinner will recreate the unique experience by bringing the community together to celebrate and learn the history of agave as they sip mezcal and indulge in an innovative five-course menu.

Masks are required for this event...in more ways than one! Come decked out in your Día de los Muertos-inspired finery, including creative and elaborate face coverings, and expect a few fun surprises to round out the evening!
