Dara Wong and George Murkowicz - Shift Flagstaff

Dedicated to changing the mentality of the "normal" dining experience, SHIFT specializes in family-style shared plates of new American cuisine. Owner and pastry chef Dara Wong and chef George Murkowicz hope to challenge diners to look beyond typical "mountain town food" and embrace the restaurant's locally-driven menu and artfully composed plates served in a casual and approachable atmosphere.

Why this dinner is important:

"We have only been open for four years and were gaining some traction. COVID has come at an inopportune time, especially since Flagstaff is a seasonal town. So all restaurants here were coming off our slowest months (winter season) and getting ready to get busy again when it hit.

Besides losing majority of our revenue, we have missed our relationships with diners. We miss the hospitality end of our industry. We feel unfulfilled as chefs and hospitalitarians when we are limited to to-go food and drinks.

Not only will the money help us continue to push our Flagstaff food scene by keeping our staff employed and our doors open, but it will also satisfy us and our community in entertaining guests and sharing our love for food. We hope to continue our SHIFT story and bring communities together in Arizona."
